Description

At our May social we’ll be exploring what we can learn from social movements in the United States today. We’d love you to be there!

From Black Lives Matter to the Bernie Sanders campaign, political organisers across the pond have a knack for building massive, diverse movements. As more and more of our organisations in the UK look to take the leap from simply mobilising supporters to building leaders to organise in their communities, now is the perfect time to compare notes.

Learning from organising in the USA
May NEON London social
With Ashok Kumar and others TBC
Thursday 12th May 2016 from 6pm
Crisis Skylight Cafe, 64 Commercial Street, London E16LT

We’ll hear from NEONite Ashok Kumar (US political expert, Queen Mary, University of London) and others on what they think are the big lessons for UK movements today.

NEON London socials are monthly opportunities to meet other excellent folks campaigning for social and environmental justice. Come along, get involved in the conversations, and have a drink or two if you fancy (bring your own – alcoholic or not). Don’t worry if you’ve never been to a NEON social before, there’ll be lots of friendly people waiting to welcome you. Our venue is fully accessible.

See you there!
